Cheri Rivard, MS, LMFT

Cheri earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University, after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut. After working for several years with children and their families as a therapist in Extended Day Treatment programs, in 2009, she attended Central Connecticut State University and interned for a year at The Naylor School in Harford in order to become certified by the Connecticut State Department of Education as a School Family Therapist. Cheri has spent the past 12 years working at a youth service bureau as a counselor in schools, working with children in preK through high school. Cheri enjoys working with children, adolescents, and their families to address anxiety, depression, communication challenges, and parenting concerns. She also enjoys working with adults who are grappling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and difficult life transitions.
